When should you buy travel protection?

It’s best to buy your plan as soon as possible after you make your first payment or deposit for your trip. Why?

  • Travel insurance can offer protection for unexpected events before you leave, not just during your trip.
  • Certain benefits like Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR), Interruption for Any Reason (IFAR), and the Pre-Existing Condition Waiver are available only if you buy your plan within a specified time.
  • You’ll want time to review and make sure you understand your plan so that know what to expect when trip happens.

Is COVID-19 covered?

Yes! Our plans cover COVID-19 the same as any other illness. View these benefits

How do you calculate trip cost for trip protection?

We’ll ask you about your prepaid trip costs to get you a quote for coverage. You should include non-refundable expenses such as airfare, a cruise, hotel, entertainment and excursions, house or condo rental, and similar expenses. It's important to know how to calculate the cost for your trip.

What does travel insurance cover?

Protection for Your Trip Expenses

If you cancel or interrupt for a covered reason, our plans reimburse unused, nonrefundable payments or deposits for the travel arrangements you purchased for your trip. You’ll also find valuable benefits such as Trip Delay and Missed Tour or Cruise Connection.

Protection for Your Health

If you get sick or hurt during your trip, your Seven Corners plan provides emergency medical expense coverage. You also get emergency medical evacuation coverage if adequate treatment is not available in your immediate area. It reimburses transportation expenses to transport you to the nearest suitable medical facility if you incur an acute, severe, or life-threatening sickness or injury.

Protection for Your Belongings

If your baggage is lost, stolen, damaged, or destroyed during your trip, we can reimburse you to replace essential personal items and help you recover your losses.

Medical Benefits and Coverage

Inside the United States — You may seek treatment at any medical provider you wish.

Outside of the United States — Seven Corners has a large international directory of providers, and many of them will bill Seven Corners direct for treatment they provide. We recommend you contact us for a referral, but you may seek treatment at any facility.

Utilizing the directory does not guarantee benefits or that the treating facility will bill Seven Corners direct. We do not guarantee payment to a facility or individual until we determine the expense is covered by the plan.

Pre-existing conditions can be covered on the same basis as any other sickness by Trip Protection Choice if you meet the requirements below. They are not covered by Trip Protection Basic.

We will waive the Pre-existing Medical Condition exclusion if all of the following apply:

  1. You buy this plan within 20 days of the date your initial trip payment or deposit is received; and
  2. You or your traveling companion are medically able and not disabled from travel when you pay for this plan based upon the assessment of a Physician; and
  3. You update the coverage to include the additional cost of subsequent travel arrangements within 15 days of paying your travel supplier for them.

  2. took or received a prescription for drugs or medicine. (This number 2 does not apply to a condition which is treated or controlled solely by taking prescription drugs or medicine and remains treated or controlled without any adjustment or change in the required prescription throughout the 60 days before coverage begins);
  3. Change in prescribed medication means the dosage or frequency of a medication has been reduced, increased, stopped and/or new medications have been prescribed due to the worsening of an underlying condition that is being treated with the medication, unless the change is:
    1. between a brand name and a generic medication with comparable dosage; or
    2. an adjustment to insulin or anti-coagulant dosage.
  4. Death resulting from a Pre-Existing Medical Condition will not be excluded. Death must occur prior to the termination date of the benefit under which the claim is being made.
