What should I do if I need medical care during my trip?
For Life-threatening Emergencies Worldwide:
- Call the local emergency service and seek medical care as they direct.
- Contact Seven Corners Assist as soon as you can (contact details are shown on your ID card).
- We will review for a Guarantee of Payment* to pay the medical facility directly if the facility will allow and we are able to verify necessary information.
- If the facility where you are located cannot provide the level of care necessary for your medical condition, we will evaluate the need for an emergency medical evacuation.
- Make sure your medical provider knows about applicable pre-certification requirements for your plan. Coverage can be limited if expenses are not pre-certified.
For Situations That Are Not Life Threatening:
IN THE U.S. — Check your ID card for a network.
You have a network: Search for a medical provider near you and schedule treatment.
You don’t have a network: You can visit any provider you wish, including our network providers; however, you will not receive special pricing.
- Whether you have a network or not, contact Seven Corners in these situations:
- If non-emergency hospitalization is recommended.
- Within 48 hours of the first working day following an emergency admission.
- When your physician recommends surgery (including outpatient surgery).
- Check your insurance plan for pre-certification requirements and make sure your provider knows to contact Seven Corners Assist for pre-certification. Coverage can be limited if expenses are not pre-certified.
- Do not pay a network provider as they will bill Seven Corners direct.
- If your plan has a network and you see a provider outside the network, you may be required to pay for treatment when you receive it.
OUTSIDE THE U.S. — You have access to our international provider directory.
Visit Wellabroad.com or contact Seven Corners Assist for help finding a provider.
- Schedule an appointment with a nearby provider. Be certain to verify their payment preference before you see them. Some providers will bill Seven Corners direct, and others will require you to pay upon receiving treatment.
